WEEK 5 TOP 10

  1. From these photos, I can see that your skills to control the exposure and shoot in the night are mature. These photos are really great!

  2. Your night photos show a lot of potential! Continue experimenting with slow shutter speeds, and try to use ISO to your advantage without showing too much grain. Overall I feel like your night photos are successful.

  3. Photos taken at night are difficult because I feel like they're inevitably grainy. Overall I think you did a nice job. Some of these photos feel repetitive. I really admire that you decided to take them at night to get better!

  4. I appreciate that you tried something different with your photos! The shots through the windows are really cool. I agree that the shots are a little grainy, but it hard to avoid.

  5. I really appreciate how you pushed yourself this week. Some of your photos are more successful than others at capturing the light. I think it would've been interesting to see you play with the shutter speedboat more. I agree with some of the previous comments that some are a little grainy.

  6. Nice job taking advantage of light to make interesting compositions and contrast! I feel like some of the compositions and subject matter aren't as interesting as the others, but overall these look successful!

  7. Without too much experience shooting at night, I have to say your photos already look impressive to me. There are grain in your photos but like others had said above, it is something unavoidable when you are shooting at night.

  8. Great choice and initiative to make them all night shots, it really helps create a theme/story. You did a good job of making them crisp and detailed in the challenging lighting. There are some parts where the lighting needs more work, but overall they were successful.

  9. The sixth image in particular I really enjoy for its atmosphere (it's a pretty consistent feeling through all your photos - good job with that). I also had some trouble with pictures turning out grainy, which might just be a difficulty that comes with shooting in low light. Out of your duplicate images (number 4+5) I think the lighting for the first one is better.

  10. I really enjoy the mood that your photos bring foward. You use the bits of light out at night to your advantage, creatkng a bit of contrast that helps your photos stand out.
