Your contrast and organic shapes creates an interesting image, however the compositions are a bit repetitive and the subject becomes boring to look at it.
You did well in showing textures in your photos. However, as Catherine mentioned, your subjects are a little bit boring. The image 7 need to be focused better.
These come off a little too blurry and grainy for me. I challenge you to introduce new elements into the picture and play around with the plants like a sandbox, throw flour on them, see what happens when you glue two together.
I really love the photos of the flowers with the rain. The last four photos are a little too grey for me. Overall i like your angles and the composition of your photos. However, i think that there are a couple of photos that could be focused better. In addition, i really appreciate the texture of the first photo.
As some people mentioned, the tone needed a little more variation and some of them are blurry. For the most part you did a good job with depth of field but the focus still needs some work.
I think you are doing a better job with the contrast in some of you pictures this week (the white flower ones), but some of them still looks too grey for me. Also, I really wish to see more variety in your pictures. I don't have too much experience shooting plants but I think using the techniques weve discussed in class can help increase the variety of your pictures!
The angles in which you shoot your photos make the subject more interesting but sometimes I can't tell what is in focus and at first glance some images appear blurry. Over the weeks I realized that you like shooting flowers and plants but I feel like I keep seeing the same time of nature, maybe you should try to find more interesting organic shapes and textures.
The flowers with the dewdrops were definitely my favorites! They have very good contrast and composition. The last four images however are a bit out of focus and grainy.
I think the photo of the bark and the flower with water droplets on it are your strongest. The images of the leaves feel a little redundant. I like the close up detail of the images, but I think the images would be stronger if the focus seemed more purposeful.

ReplyDeleteYour first three images are nice but the rest do not grab my attention; largely because they are grainy and have more grey than whites and blacks.
