  1. I saw a lot of interesting pictures in your contact sheets with the lights and the sign that really indicated lines and I'm wondering why you didn't include them. The flower pictures work, but they don't show me the true texture of the flower if the camera was a little bit closer. The symmetrical fence is the most successful and is almost exactly symmetrical which is hard to do. It has nice lighting and it looks very distinct.

  2. I don't really have much to say about these, overall you managed to capture well composed photos. The only thing I can think of is to possibly add more contrast to your first 2 photos.

  3. Contrast in your first two photos is definitely needed. Your grass picture is lovely because it is sharp, has contrast, and an interesting angle. The first flower photo you took is a bit out of focus. The night shots are a little grainy but they have good compositions.

  4. The photo with the street light is a really interesting image. It has good contrast and uses the techniques we learned in class well. Some of the other photos are not a striking but could be pushed further with more contrast.

  5. I like the first photo of the palm tree but I dint think the way you cropped the second photo worked. Although I like the angle in which you shot the tree on your 7th photo, It's too dark.

  6. Not just the first two photos mentioned above, I think the last photo also need more contrast, like dodge the small light bulbs brighter. Also the small branches in the last photo is a bit messy, the only thing I can figure out to fix it is to blur them so that the main branches and the light bulbs can stand out.

  7. I think your first two images are successful because of the crisp texture and contrast. However, I also saw some interesting night images in your contact sheets and I would've liked to get a closer look at them, as they seem to have successful composition.

  8. Your photos are sharp and the first one shows the rule of thirds successfully. Also, you did well in controlling the light in the night, which I failed. However, the first two photos need more contrast. And the composition in image 9 makes me feel like you should have changed if, but I don't know how exactly you should do to improve it.

  9. Agreeing with Davis that some of the images on your third contact sheet seem pretty strong (railroads sign and the few series following it).

I think your composition for the last image is interesting, somehow bringing the nearest branches more into focus (blurring the branches farther away, using dodge on the focus points) would make the image less flat. I find the cropping on the left side of image 9 to be abrupt, maybe use rule of thirds and extend the canvas more on the left so that the pillar isn't cut off. Your first and fourth images could benefit from higher contrast I think, since they're mostly composed of mid greys (as opposed to the extreme contrast in the night photos)

The sharpness of image 6 is very nice, though it focuses on the droplets more so than the flower which may or may not be intentional. I do think the flower has interesting textures to offer so adjusting the focus to both the petals and water would strengthened the image.

  10. The contrast and composition on all of these is great! As much as I love short depths of field, I think your flower photos could have benefited from having a slightly larger depth of field so the half the flower isn't too blurry.
