  1. I'm seeing a lot more intent in your photos except for the water ones. While they do display strong lines and slight texture, they come off as pictures that anyone could take. The third water one is too overexposed compared to the 6th picture with an excellent balance in colors.

  2. Some of your photos seem redundant, but i can definitely see your intent. However, i think you couldve pushed your intent to be more interesting. I also like that you played with lines with your water photos, but those photos are lacking drama to me. Also, the first two photos come off a bit blurry.

  3. I definitely think the first photo stands out from your photos this week, but I hope you could crop the right side a bit (behind the runner) so that the whole picture is more balanced. Photos of the waves and water are kind of repetitive, I would like to see you try out more interesting/intentional angles/compositions.

  4. The stop motion and the panning shot are well done - those I really enjoy for technique and mood. The steadiness of the first image (horizon is straight, also lovely reflections) versus the slightly tilted movement of the second image are both appropriate. Images 3 and 5 both have very strong texture and repetition, looking at them feels satisfying - to me that is intent, I disagree with the notion that an image has to have drama to be interesting to look at, or have a purpose.

Images 4, 6, 8, and 9 feel a little lackluster compared to your stronger images, although with 6 I do get the impression of contrast (light vs dark, small shell vs large shell) though the shadow feels somewhat unintentional. While the patterns in the water are all unique from each other, some are richer to look at than others.

"Pureness" or "clarity" are words I'd use to describe image 7, the vast, unending space combined with the motion of your subject are definitely working in correlation imo. To further that feeling though, I'd take the shot from a greater distance from your subject, making them smaller, the landscape bigger, giving a more overwhelming feeling of unbridled freedom.

  5. The above comments covered most of my thoughts on your photos. The first photo is strong, I don't mind how bright it is because I think that enhances the energy in it. The water pictures are redundant and ineffective. I'd like to see you experiment with capturing light and its reflection on water with more unique angles. Like Davis said, a lot of these feel like pictures people take on family vacations to the beach.

  6. The first two are really strong compared to the others. Like Jenna said, the water pictures are redundant and ineffective. You could have pushed them further in several ways but I'd either get closer or try out new angles.

  7. I agree with Jenna that the intense contrast of the first photo communicates the intense energy of the subject. However I disagree about the water photos - I think you were able to make a simple subject very interesting by capturing just the right moments and using purposeful perspective. The contrast and texture of the water is successful, especially in the last one.

  8. These images are all lovely! Especially the first, and I think the 7th is very strong as well. Even just the rippling water is captured very nicely with good contrast in your 6th image. I think the others could be pushed just a bit more to meet your strongest images.

  9. Your 6th photo is great ! the line created by the shadows is very interesting. Some of your photos are a bit blurry.

  10. I think the photos of the water show interesting texture and shapes. I think that the runner is one of your stronger photos composition wise. Some of your photos are a bit blurry, but that's something you can easily fix for the next time you shoot.
