Your compositions are very strong! Your use of perspective and geometric shapes, like in your last three images, makes your pictures very interesting. You're very good at creating a visually interesting composition with simple subject matter. Your second image looks a little like the camera was tilted, throwing off the lines of the image.
The 8th image is very intriguing and reminds me of modern art! You're really getting a handle on capturing subject matter, but some of your photos need a little push. The 1st fountain picture shows a foot in the background and the last photo would be striking, but the background takes me away from where the leading lines on the fence are pushing me.
I think the composition of your photos are very successful this week. the subject matters of your photos are simple but not boring at all. However the second photo is the only one that is not so strong and intentional comparing with the other water photos.
Those water photos are really nice and crisp! I especially like the distortion caused by the water in the 4th one. The only photo that doesn't look as intentional as the others is the 2nd one.
Your minimalistic photos came out really good and effectively used framing and negative space to create an interesting image. Some of the others are a bit busy and in your case I think less is more.
Your 3rd and 4th photos are gorgeous! I starred at them for so long. There are minor issues with composition in some of these like the feet in the top of your first photo. Overall you captured some good geometry in these photos. The images of the leaves don't feel incredibly intentional but they show nice depth of field.
The 7th photo seems very similar to a photo that I used for my project, and I think it's interesting but it would have been slightly more successful if the branch took up a little bit more room so that it was bigger (still keeping the rule of thirds). I really appreciate your use of line in the last photo. I think you have a really great eye for composition, and are very mindful of the technical elements that we have learned in class. Like some of the previous comments, some of your photos seem more like snapshots rather than being very intentional, so keep pushing yourself to come up with unique perspectives such as the 8th photo and even the 4th photo!
The first shot of the fountain is awesome! The highlights on the water really bring the texture of the water to the viewers attention. I think that the ninth photo, is not as strong as the rest. It could have more contrast, and is also a little blurry.

ReplyDeleteThe first. third, and forth images of water are so strong that the second image of the waterfall appears like a bit of a snapshot.
