  1. These are really visually arresting! Even though most of the images are mainly dark/black, the hints of bright light, though small, create movement for the eye to follow to a focal point. I also like the concept of burning the cards, except the last one I think is a bit distracting because of the connotation behind the game Cards of Humanity. It makes me take the picture less seriously.

  2. I understand your decision to make the three image apprear blurry but I wonder if the shapes in your composition against the black background would be more visually impacting if something was in focus.

  3. Your photos are so amazing! The second image shows the motion in an interesting way, but it's blurry. The last three photos are very sharp and you captured the fire in the darkness successfully.

  4. I love the card concept! I would love to see a photo shoot that really capitalizes on the theme of cards and being played like emotionally. Like Valentina, I understand your decision to make the first three blurry, but I feel like they would be more captivating closer or with some sort of form blocking out the light from the glow.

  5. I think you were successful this week in capturing light/fire and its movement. I agree with the others when they mention the first three might be more interesting if they were a bit crisper and had more to focus on. I think it'd be interesting if you experimented more with the movement of light in the pitch dark.

  6. Your photos came out really great this week, I just wish they were more in focus. The most successful photos were of the logs but the card photos could have been stronger if they were sharper.

  7. All of these previous comments nailed how I feel about these photos. The motion you captured is really interesting. Your 5th photo is the most successful out of your fire images because it is sharp, has an interesting composition, and balances the lights and darks and the greys between them. I agree with Catherine that the words of the card are distracting.

  8. I think your photos this week are very attractive and artistic, I can see you are trying to experiment something different and it is impressive all your top ten photos were taken at night which is really difficult. but there are something you can improve on your pictures, for example, there are too much dark in the last photo and the lighter part--hand card and the flame is not light enough to make a strong contras. also the first three photos could be not that blurry so that they can appear taken more intentionally.

  9. The fire is really mesmerizing! I this the shots close up to the wood are really strong. I love how you played with the extreme darkness of outdoor shots. The card shots are cool, but I think the composition became a little redundant.
