Valentina Gil - Week 11

  1. Your editing is very successful! You were able to lighten the yellow flowers without them being too distracting in the background, and her eyes look very bright. If anything I think the 9th image may be overall too gray.

  2. I think you still did a great job in narratives especially in the seventh photo, in which I can definitely read something form your model's eyes. Also I think the contrast you have makes your photos very strong visually. However, there are some parts in some of your photos that are too bright which you need to pay more attention to such as the cloth in picture four and the first picture in general.

  3. I think you did a great job editing so that you had great contrast between the yellow follows in the background and the model. Personally, the first photo is a little too bright for me. Your 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th photos are very strong and I think that the asymmetrical composition is great. I think the angle on the last photo is off by being a little too high or her not being completely in the center.

  4. Your familiarity with portraiture definitely shows here. You captured unconventional angles and balanced extreme whites with extreme blacks. Overall these are really beautiful! I personally do not think the first image is as strong as the others because her face is so white that the detail is lost; additionally, the bright background provides little contrast for our eyes to rest because there is no dark space in the image.

  5. I think you did a good job on using shadows to create extra forms on your model. Your compositions are all very successful as well. I think the off-centered composition in your last one looks a little unintentional? I think if you had her just slightly more off center it'd be stronger.

  6. The first one is overexposed, which is distracting to me. In the last few photos, I can see your intention of creating shadows and I understand it's hard to do it outside. You did a good job in composing the photos!

  7. These are well composed! Image 4, her skin comes off weird, feeling sunbleached but in a gravelly way, which is weird to me. It feels a little too airbrushed too.
