  1. Your contrast is nice in most of these photos but I wish the men in the 7th image had more contrast because it would make it more dramatic and help our eyes focus on the men easier. Right now I kind of lose them in the grey of the rest of the photo. Your angles and compositions feel more intentional. Your 5th image feels a little busy and I'm not sure where to rest my eyes in it.

  2. Michael,
These are the same images from last week. (different images, but same batch= same images) So i'm not going to critique these. Ideally, based on your critique from last week I would have been able to comment on the week this week, taking into consideration the progress, or attempt at amending the problems of last week's images. So I will say what I said before, from these images, I don't get a sense of who you are as a photographer. These images come across as simply pictures you took on a trip to a place, And while there's nothing wrong with that, I don't think your use of the design principles are sophisticated nor apparent enough to compensate for the lack of intentional style/working theory/intent for making imagery. Each week should be progressive, That is why the course is designed to have you constantly refine and improve your abilities. After your Project 2, you can not step back, you must push forward. Keep asking yourself, HOW CAN I ACHIEVE THAT??

  3. Your images have a lot of depth, but it's hard for me to see that these images are yours. By that, I mean I feel like you can push yourself in developing a personal style.

  4. You have an eye for patterns, I want to see you push that with this upcoming project. Or maybe an old florida vibe that the 30 something men in the bar are giving me. That could be really interesting and it reminds me of something like the Shining.

  5. I can see where you really focus on the technical aspects of your photos when shooting, such as being very conscious of the composition of your photos. However I agree with the previous comments where I think your photos could be more interesting if you interacted with what you were shooting, or found a way to make your photos seem more intentional. My favorite image is the fourth image, the pattern is stunning to me.

  6. I think the contrast in your statue and palm tree photos is successful but it does't cover up the fact that those photos are less creativity in the way they framed. But I think the fourth photo is the most interesting the way you composite it, and if the fan-shaped blank is more centered. Try to think about how you see things while you take pictures and think how to make your photos unique.

  7. I think the picture that stands out the most as intentional and deliberate is your fourth image because of the use of repetition.

  8. I'm really into the 7th image--the expressions of everyone tells an interesting narrative that places the viewer as the main character. I think the composition is slightly off and needs to lean more to the right because the focus on all the faces makes it a bit too heavy on the right. Overall, I feel your images, while having very good technical elements, could use a bit more pushing to give them more intent.
