Valentina Gil - Week 9

9 comments:

  1. Many of your images are crisp and clear, and your use of aperture is very successful in the close-up images, capturing detail, but for some reason the focus in your 8th image seems off. Nothing really seems in focus in that image. It would have been more successful if at least her face was sharp and crisp.

  2. The 1st image is very compelling and has a wide range of blacks and whites. But, some of them (2nd and 3rd picture) come off a little too white. My eye is drawn to the closest foot first and draws it in rather than taking me through the image. The 3rd picture's whiteness makes her hair feel sort of blocky.

  3. These images are so interesting and I think they do a really good job telling a narrative. The way you had her body imitate the direction of the trees around her really ups you composition as well. I think your 4th image could have been a bit better if there were no trees in the background? Or maybe if they weren't so dark they blend in some with the subject. Overall, really cool images!

  4. The first image is impressive. The shape of arms in the 4th is similar to the shape of the tree and I can see your intention by it. Even though the 6th shows the depth of field, the subject matter is not that intriguing.

  5. i think you did a successful job taking pictures with people involving, your pictures this week don't seem to be so narrative as they were weeks before but they are still interested the way you composed them. However I notice that in the second picture you are focusing on the tree trunk instead of the feet, i am not sure if you did it intentionally or not.

  6. I was impressed by the emotion you created with these images, especially the first and I was interested in the way you interacted nature with the human body.

  7. Your first image is absolutely beautiful; you captured so much emotion! I see intent in the rest of your photos as well, but as Davis mentioned some are a bit white. This isn't an awful thing but it makes my eyes unsure of what to focus on. Keep telling stories with your photos because you are quite successful in that!

  8. There's a couple of photos that are a little too bright for me, but overall I really enjoyed your photos this week. I really appreciate how your model interacts with the nature around her. The only photo I'm not crazy about is the 7th photo because it seems like something I would see on Facebook or Instagram - it doesn't seem intentional. I really love how your model mimics the shape of the tree in image 4.

  9. The image where we are looking through the material is really strong. Some of the other photos come off a little posed, and kinda stiff.
