Jenna Bray - Week 9

  1. You create strong leading lines with geometric forms and purposeful composition. I also like that you changed it up a bit with images of nature like the animals. I think your final image could have been stronger if the little line of light on the side of the window wasn't there.

  2. The way you frame your compositions is exceptional. I don't think the picture of the duck is as strong as the rest of the photos.

  3. The duck picture is hilarious, I wasn't expecting that at all when I was flipping through the images. To improve the duck, use the same method you used with the palmish trees in image 3 and put it against the white sky. I think that would be interesting and if you bring food for it you could gain it's trust to shoot it further. I disagree with Catherine on the window photo, I think it benefits from that light line if it was a little shorter and matched with the less dense trees. If you can revisit this area it would be so cool to see a juxtaposition between lines of light inside and lines of trees outside.

  4. Those photos are great. The 5th image is perfectly symmetric and the 7th shows the daylight. However, I think the last one could have been better without the extra light on the right and the bottom because it seems distractive.

  5. I think the way you frame your photos are interesting and the contrasts are really strong. I think the duck picture can be better if you dodge the background a bit more so that the duck can stand out.

  6. Your use of line and contrast makes some really dynamic compositions! I'm really impressed by your 8th photo and how you were able to capture the sky without it turning out over exposed.

  7. You have a great sense of negative space and geometry but you may have been able to push your 1st and 3rd photos further by using the rule of thirds to your adavantage

  8. I personally think the editing on the first images is too much contrast. Overall, I really like how you played around with your composition such as your use of the vertical rule of thirds. I think you need the white line because it adds depth to the photo and to the window. It would be really cool to see you play around with lighting more because I think you have a great eye for that.

  9. I like the "harsher" editing. I think the hard contrast is kinda a style. I think the shots with the greenery and some of the architecture are really dynamic. The window shot isn't as strong as the others, but I think it's a cool composition and perspective.
