This week I focused on the exploration of textures and angles within architecture and the juxtaposition of jagged vs clean compositions. Generally, homes tend to have more character than office buildings. I wanted to explore the texture/ message communicated through wooden homes vs the clean, sleek angles of business buildings. This study will translate into my compilation of home doors with office buildings.

I can see your exploration thought this images but I kinda like some of the door images in your contact sheets. I really like your 9th image, the way you framed it made the roof form this cool zigzag line.
ReplyDeleteI love that you photograph architecture in a way that makes it so interesting. Throughout this entire semester, I really feel like I know who you are as a photographer. All of your compositions are spot on and you can tell that you really put a lot of thought into it. I think the third photo is the least interesting out of all of your photos, but I do appreciate what you were trying to capture. It would be cool to see what you can do with more run down buildings.

ReplyDeleteThese are very striking and I like your experimentation with wooden structures. I would like to see a mockup of your door idea so we can all help you make that happen successfully since Photoshop is really difficult.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a really sunning job with your editing (as always) and your photos came out very strong and clean. When you mentioned the idea of wooden homes vs office buildings, I think photos of homes should be warm/soft in tones in nature while photos of office buildings are cold. Overall I think with your concept of doors for your final project, try to shoot each doors as if you are shooting different persons, focus on their different characteristics and how they are conveying the characteristics of people who are living in them.
